Organic Salmon
At Fjord, we’re proud to offer an organic Atlantic salmon that is both exceptionally delicious and certified to strict European organic standards. Because the United States does not have an organic certification for seafood, the organic Atlantic salmon you’ll find in our case is sourced from countries that do: Ireland and Norway. When we use the word “organic,” we are referring specifically to these established European programs, each of which is audited and regulated under the EU’s organic aquaculture rules.
Both Irish and Norwegian organic certifications enforce production practices that differ meaningfully from conventional salmon farming. These include low stocking densities, the use of organic, GMO-free feed, strict limits on antibiotics and synthetic chemicals, and routine monitoring of water quality and fish welfare. These standards are designed to support healthier fish and a healthier environment, and they directly influence the salmon’s clean flavor, natural color, and beautifully firm texture.
While other markets may offer versions of “organic” salmon, our program is carefully curated to bring in salmon from select Irish and Norwegian producers known for consistency, water quality, and harvest excellence. The result is an organic Atlantic salmon that stands out immediately at the counter and even more on the plate: rich yet clean tasting, buttery without being oily, and reliably exceptional week after week. In short, when you see organic Atlantic salmon at Fjord, you’re getting one of the finest organic salmon options available.
